The largest village in the Passeier Valley once spread out around the stream, and it still bears witness to this. The history of St. Leonhard in Passeier can be seen in the village museum – but can also be sensed in every street, in every lane and on every corner.
Customs and traditions
The historic Schildhöfe – imposing farmsteads – and traditional festivities such as the Almabtrieb, when the cattle are driven down from their summer pastures, as well as rituals such as the burning of incense in each home on the twelfth day of Christmas, or local associations such as the music band: the Passeier Valley is full of fascinating customs and traditions.
